Ukrainian iIllustrator Yuliia Bahniuk became interested in birds on her first journey to India, the country where she now lives. In the last four years, she’s spotted 129 species and birdwatching has become an important part of life.
These birds are from a sketchbook with 56 Indian bird species carrying “small notes about them, where I have spotted them or which memories about each of them I have,” she says.

Ahh I read this as I draft my short profile of Vicky Earle’s sketchbook journal, “Exploring Vancouver Naturehoods” (Midtown Press, March 2023) — https://drawinnature.com/news/ — Vicky brings her professional medical/botanical illustrator skills and her lifelong love of nature to this book, which is glorious. Probably not available beyond BC, but I think you’ll respond to her work as you have to the artist shown here
What wonderful synchronicity. Just had a look at her sketchbooks/drawings. Wonderful, as you predicted. Thank you for the introduction.
Fabulous, I have always loved birds!
Quite the collection of observations. Must be a very absorbing pastime.
Yes, indeed. While I like birds, I would be bored being a bird watcher. LOL
