Vancouver-based Cherry Archer begins by creating a composition of botanicals grown herself or foraged during walks in the forest or city streets. Then she freezes it in water to form a “Botanical Ice Tile.”
“The tile is illuminated with colored light, photographed, and printed in large format. My work speaks to themes of global warming, sustainability, biophilia, and being in the moment.”

Thank you so much for featuring my photography!
These are beautiful – so delicate and fragile.
And so creative – she has a step by step foraging and freezing protocol that obviously works. Thank you for weighing in.
Gorgeous!
RIght? And so different. Love the idea.
