Fascinated by anthropology and archaeology, Alberta-based photographer Owen Murray has spent the last decade documenting cultural heritage projects in Cameroon, Turkmenistan, Oman, and Egypt. He’s on exhibition at Strathcona County Art Gallery through Aug. 25.
The current exhibition features photographs of murals (referencing ancient Egyptian symbols and artworks combined with contemporary socio-political messages) protesting the political and cultural uprising in Egypt labelled the “Arab Spring”.
