I have always loved the way this artist imagines the seasons, and life’s other moments, including this one for Halloween. Janet Hill’s illustrations are elegant, yet whimsical, often with an underlying narrative that instantly captures the imagination.
She is a beloved children’s author and a painter, based in Stratford, Ontario. See a bio and interview by Penguin Randomhouse on Shelf Love, here.

These are WONDERFUL! Thank you for the introduction.
I did not know much about her or her work before I searched for Halloween and fell in love with Pandora’s Closet. You’re welcome!
I repeat myself – but WOW! Love this!
Totally understandable reaction. Happy to know. And if you go to her website, her endless creativity is even more on show.
This is fabulous. I enjoyed looking at her art. Colorful, but still full of details. Thanks for sharing.
You’re so right that it’s the detail, detail. I think because she’s a children’s author she has that knack of engaging the eye, especially for children. Wonderful imagination.

I’ll look up her children’s books. I’m sure they are beautiful.
