French artist Paulo Grangeon’s 1,600 papier mâché pandas took their seats in the National Theatre in Taipei this week, part of an international tour by the World Wildlife Fund that began in 2008 to bring attention to the endangered species. The World Wildlife Fund’s French section inaugurated the exhibition in a joint project with Grangeon in July 2008 at Paris City Hall (below, photo from Buzzworthy).
Grangeon’s display has traveled to more than 20 countries as part of the WWF project.

I just love pandas. Who doesn’t? Although I’ve never met one, sad to say. There are so few left in the wild on this planet, and here is one artist who is making a statement about that. Check out these wonderful and charming installations, and maybe check out the World Wildlife Fund as well.

How cool!. The sheer number of pandas is pretty awesome. I just saw the Cai Guo-Qiang: Falling Back to Earth exhibit today at the Brisbane GOMA. So many animals in one day. Loving the crazy fun of the pandas.
