Photography, illustration, collage, stencil and letterpress all find their way into the screen printed works of Montreal-based illustrator Todd Stewart. Trained as a landscape architect and urban planner, his images are culled from memory, dreams, experience and surroundings. I particularly like these cityscapes, but his dream-like landscapes and starkly drawn buildings are absorbing too. (Above: Detroit)
I am acutely aware of how construction – with regard to both structure and meaning – informs my work. These abstract land and cityscapes embody both serenity and instability, resulting in a dreamlike tension from which subjective narratives can be born. – Artist Statement (Above: Vancouver)

the colors the artist uses are tantalizing. and yet, cool on the eyes and have sensible lines… 🙂
So true about the combination of sensible and tantalizing. Appreciated.
