A self-taught photographer from Kangiqsujuaq, Lucasi Kiatainaq has a unique way of using photography to share his voice. As of today, most of the photography of Nunavik was taken by non-Inuk persons and so, offering an Inuk vision, Lucasi’s photography of this place is highly important
Art Break – Montreal
The Visual Arts Centre – and the McClure Gallery – have a long heritage of community outreach, epitomized by this new series. The centre has been involved in the teaching of art for over 70 years, with nearly 4,000 registrations annually.
Art Breaks open the door to an up-close view of artists and their techniques
The films from the Visual Arts Centre are focused on artists affiliated with the centre’s McClure Gallery, artists who demonstrate accessible activities that can be done at home or that can simply be viewed for the pleasure of seeing an artist at work/play.
