This beautiful interpretation of an Indigenous sweat lodge is up for auction in Heffel’s First Nations Art sale this month, a dreamy yet potent work typical of celebrated Alberta artist Joane Cardinal-Schubert.
The work is titled The Eagle Sweatlodge, My Mother’s Vision, mixed media on paper, signed and dated 1982 and on verso inscribed “Exhibited at Stockholm International Expo 83.” 24 x 32 in, 61 x 81.3 cm. See more Indigenous art at the Heffel link below.
