The work of Quebec artist Michel Blouin is characterized by vibrant and symbolic visual languge, a technique on exhibition in his upcoming solo show at Thompson Landry.
His paintings are the reflection of his poetic daydreams, where colours represent feelings, and shapes embody thoughts. His use of mixed media, including oil, acrylic, pastel, and collage, further enhances the depth and intensity of his art.
Michel Blouin is a self taught artist known for his Naive approach, but at the same time his work is very complex, says Thompson Landry Gallery, where the exhibition runs April 18 to May 5 in Toronto.

I was going to say… interesting… but really, for me, it’s a bit odd. It reminds me of when I lived in California. There was a house that had all sorts of weird things in their front year. We could say a junk yard look, but like these paintings, just a bit odd. The owners of this house must have found joy putting it together, every piece.
Interesting background to your viewpoint on this piece. I get it. Thank you.
