Glass artist Tanya Lyons works with glass, natural materials and found objects, often influenced by her training in Japan. Based now in the Madawaska Valley, where she has returned to be closer to nature, her work will be at the Craft Ontario 2017 Biennial juried exhibition in Toronto, March 23 to June 3.
Lyons explains her artistry, and talks about her Forest Dress in this video.
Lyons graduated with honours from the Sheridan College glass program, studied at the University of Art & Design Helsinki, the Atlin Art Center in BC, and completed a graduate program at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Toyama, Japan.

I think only the artist ever does the right job of explaining the approach or technique.
I love the snowflake effect on the opening kimono shot. Although seemingly unusual to decorate a garment with glass, it isn’t. I decorate with glass beads all the time. The real beauty here is Tanya makes her own. Very beautiful work, indeed!
