Xan Padron – Rainbow for Pride

I can’t think of a better work to celebrate Pride Month than this Rainbow image created by Xan Padrón, a New York–based photographer. Known for his Time Lapse photos, he selects a remote urban location with a distinctive background and captures individuals passing by the same spot. Padrón then seamlessly stacks the images in a grid.

Note on the Pride Rainbow image, from his website here:

“Baker’s Global Rainbow” uses the colors of the original rainbow flag designed by artist Gilbert Baker to honor the San Francisco Gay Freedom Parade in 1978. The design of the original flag had eight colors, each one with its own symbolism, but because of practical matters, two of those colors disappeared to give rise to the flag that we have today: a six-color rainbow.
