Not that most of us would think Camp Fashion means tie-dyed summer-cabin wear, but what exactly does Camp mean in relation to what we wear? Or what celebrities wear, to be exact. Watch the video above for The Met’s explanation, in relation to their new exhibition. See how style bible Harper’s Bazaar explains it. Then watch the Red Carpet arrivals for how the rich and famous interpret the theme for the opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on “fashion’s biggest night out.”
From Balenciaga’s towering platform Crocs to Björk’s infamous swan dress and the Mugler oyster shell gown Cardi B wore to the Grammys, the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” exhibit is an exploration of how over-the-top fashion (or more accurately, FASHUN) has been used as both a form of expression and escapism throughout history. The concept was inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay that defines camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration” Harpers Bazaar.

I loved watching the pink carpet this year it was so interesting!
…. Resonates with the heady vacuousness of the domineering & dominating elite in ‘The Hunger Games … For a behind-the-scenes look of how camp it really is, check out ‘influencer’, James Charles’ ‘Met Gala’ video on Youtube.
