Jill Greenberg returns to her original muse – the horse – at a show of her latest work opening Jan. 31 at O’Born Contemporary in Toronto. “A perennial obsession now shared with her young daughter, the horse began to ignite in the artist consideration of how the bit, halter, and bridle are used to harness and control these animals,” the exhibition notes explain. A previous appearance at O’Born (see that post, here) was for Glass Ceiling, a series that saw her sit for hours underwater in a pool in scuba gear for a feminist based examination of beauty.
